42courses podcast with Dan Ariely

Even the most analytical thinkers are predictably irrational; the really smart ones acknowledge and address their irrationalities.
— Dan Ariely

Recently, we were honoured to have Professor Dan Ariely on our podcast.

Born in New York City but raised in Israel, Dan was hospitalised due to severe injuries sustained in an explosion.

That transformative experience led him to take an interest in understanding human behaviour, especially under challenging circumstances.

He earned a PhD in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a second PhD in business from Duke University.

Dan Ariely is a behavioural economics superstar for those who don't know.

He has penned the best-seller Predictably Irrational, which looks at why, in certain contexts, we seem to act against our best interests.

In this episode, Dan talks about his marvellous new book, Misbelief, about why and how rational people believe irrational things. We also discuss how not to fall prey to corrosive information, lots of fascinating behavioural science and psychology insights, and even his brand new TV show, The Irrational.

You will enjoy listening to this discussion if you love exploring the human psyche's intricacies.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your headphones and hit that play button.
