The art of storytelling.
Stories are powerful because they move us emotionally.
It doesn’t matter if you are old or young, male or female or rich or poor. Emotions are universal.
A well-told story can get you to think, act or behave differently.
So what are the key elements of a good story?
In collaboration with Cannes Lions, we have created a course that answers this question.
What’s included in the course?
First up, you will learn about the evolution of storytelling and why it is so powerful. Next, using examples of award winning advertising, you will see how great stories are at the heart of any successful company.
Then you will be shown the neuroscience behind why storytelling works and how to avoid telling stories that don’t cut through.
Following on from the science comes the practical application. In this section you’ll learn about the building blocks of a story, how to best arrange them and the secrets to telling better stories.
The course is made up of a mixture of video, text, and imagery and is divided up into bite-sized lessons which you can complete wherever you are in the world on any device.
Who will you learn from?
You’ll receive guidance from high-profile creative leaders from around the world, including Keith Reinhard, Gabriela Lungu, Rory Sutherland, Debbi Vandeven, Chris Baylis and more.
Each lesson is supported by examples of award-winning advertising from around the world to show you how using the techniques you’ve learnt will result in stories that move, entertain and persuade their audience.
You will earn points and badges as you progress and you’ll be able to rank your score versus other learners around the world.
Why should I take it?
On successful completion you will receive a certification from Cannes Lions (the Oscar’s of advertising and marketing) to add to your C.V. or hang proudly on your bedroom wall.
The person that completes the course by May 17th with the highest score will win tickets to this year’s Cannes Lions festival of creativity that takes place in the French Riviera in June.
